Apple ID Screen on my Mac is frozen
When I start my Mac (Sonoma 14.5), I am asked to update the Apple ID settings, but after entering the (correct) password there is an error connecting to the Apple ID server each time.

I've seen this before.
What seems to fix it is to log out of your Apple ID, then log back in again.
The only confusing bit is when it asks whether you want to keep copies of all your iCloud data on the Mac when trying to log out.
I select not to save data as it should all come back when you log in again, but it's still a little nerve-racking!
Make sure you have a backup of your Mac before you get started!
I think you may need to contact Apple direct on this one. As it's an iCloud issue, I suspect they won't change anything.
My Mac won’t even let me sign out of the Apple ID. I have restarted it repeatedly, but each time I click on whatever button of my Apple ID, it gets frozen.
I’ve managed to sign out of the account, but when I try to login again, it takes minutes and then there is a message that there is an error connecting to the Apple ID server („Verification failed“)
