Random downloads pop on my screen for one second

I keep getting random download /verifying thing on my MacBook Air and it lasts for like one second.

Last time when it happened it said “ downloading googleuser”

Is this normal? Is it some kind of malware?

I tried searching them in my downloads but didn’t find anything.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.7

The "verifying <application name>" popup is normal although it can be annoying. Verifying is something that macOS does to check the security of apps. It is done the first time you use an app & each time an app is updated. Many such app updates occur in background, you don't even know when they happen unless you get one of the "Verifying" popups.
