How to alphabetize a list in a Pages document on Macbook Air Sonoma 14.5. I AM NOT WORKING ON A TABLE. NO cells.

i’m creating lists in a Pages document. THERE IS NO TABLE OR TEXT BOX IN THIS DOCUMENT. NO CELLS in this document. i’m simply typing different list. Example: i’m typing a list of medications. As i think of a med, i type the name. Once all names have been typed, i want to sort the names in ascending order. this is SO SIMPLE to do in MS Word. It should be as easy in Pages.

Would you like to use an Apple Shortcut that I wrote that after you select the list, you run the Shortcut and it shows you a list dialog where you can select: 1) Reverse list, 2) Sort ascending, and 3) Sort Descending? Then the list is updated in place accordingly. This Shortcut is not restricted to text lists in Pages.

You can click here and you will be prompted if you want to install the Shortcut List Processing. Do that. I have assigned the keyboard shortcut control+cmd+L to it (you can change that) to avoid having to use the secondary Services menu > List Processing approach.

Tested: Pages v14.1 on Sonoma 14.5
