iMac shipping

When I bought an iMac last week, why is it being sent from shanghi china…. You mean we don’t have a basic iMac desktop in the USA in stock ? Can someone explain this to me thanks

Is it normal for Apple to ship from third-party vendors? I recently ordered a new (not refurbished) MacBook Pro. I just received an email announcing this shipment is on it's way, but it's not being shopped from Apple, it's being shipped from QMH COMPUTER CO. LTD in Vietnam. Is this the usual way Apple ships? new Macs ordered online ship from China. that is where they are assembled. and, FWIW, even Macs purchased at your local Apple Store originally shipped from China.
