Would like to know if there’s a way to organize messages in iMessage. I use my personal number for work (coaching private lessons) and want to group all of these in a separate folder or area rather than having to sort through personal messages to find them.

That's not possible. The only options are the built-in Filters.
You can let Apple know what you'd like to see here:
You could also share the messages over to Notes and organize them in folders there.
