Syncing “Kyle’s iPhone” with this Mac will replace media from another library on “LAPTOP-K6BA1UMQ”.

Trying to use finder>music>sync to get a song off my mac into apple music. When I try.

The problem is, I have never owned a PC. I have no idea what - LAPTOP-K6BA1UMQ is and it is not listed as a device I have used on icloud.com.

I have no idea what kind of data LAPTOP-K6BA1UMQ may contain, or what music it may have on it?

Is there an easier way to get the song off my mac/apple music onto my phones apple music? There do not seem to be any apple music sync options outside of finder.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.5

The manual synchronization model for iPods, iPhones, and iPads is that you can only sync the mobile device to one master Mac or PC music library at a time. Syncing the mobile device to another Mac or PC causes it to lose all of the music and videos previously downloaded from the first Mac or PC.

You say you've never owned a PC. But is this iPhone, by chance, one that you bought or acquired second-hand … and that wasn't fully reset (all the way back to the "Hello" screen) when you got it?

I just got off support with apple, I synced it anyways, even though I did not recognize the laptop PC. Support said it I could try to sync it, they also did not know where it was from, they thought maybe it was one of my PCs? It could be the gateway I owned in 2009? I really did not want to sync it, but I saw no other options to get the music from my Mac to iPhone, so I went ahead and synced it anyways. Uhg. Seemed to work, but what a pain, its like they are forcing you to pay for subscription. What happened to regular MP3 players and owning your music like a normal person? I also had to create a playlist and add all my music(cds, songs I recorded myself, etc) to the playlist and then sync the playlist to get it on my phone, it is not even organized! Wow.

Apparently the only way to sync within the apple music app is to purchase an apple music subscription. I feel like this is one of their ploys to force people to get an apple music subscription. Strange, because spotify and other apps are like this too. What ever happened to owning your music and being able to easily organize it on an MP3 player?

In Catalina and later, you use separate applications: Music, TV, and Finder.

Music to create a music library using songs imported from your CD, purchased from the iTunes Store, etc. TV to buy or redeem digital copies of movies and TV shows. Finder to do the actual manual synchronization.
