You do not say what case you are asking about. I use a computer backpack when traveling with my Mac. Many users use a soft sleeve when transporting the Mac.
I do not recommend a hard case as it may interfere with cooling of the computer during opoeration.

Do you mean a case something like the slim jackets for an iPad ... or an actual laptop carrying case?
