I have an Apple Watch Series 3 and an iPhone 14 Pro. I’m trying to update my Apple Watch so that I will work with my iPhone. When I load up the watch app on my phone it says update required so I click on it and it says checking do update and never finishes loading. It’s just stuck on the loading screen and after about 10 minutes it says unable to check for updates

I have had the sample problem pairing iPhone 13 with Apple Watch 3
apple support was also not able to fix it saying it’s incomparable, however Apple website says it is compatible.
what u did:
factory reset my watch
select United States as region
had the watch on charger
turnt off low power mode so that my phone does not lock
did the manual pairing and it said “activating watch” and then “looking for updates”
here it got stuck for after 30 minutes so what I did was switched off WiFi and mobile data Turing on airplane mode
turnt it back on again and then it showed the latest update
i then went out of the watch app and back in as it said “update paused”
And then it worked!
update and pairing then took around 4 hours or so
