Help!!! How to Import PST to Office 365 on Mac?

I'm getting a new Macbook and want to transfer all my emails from my old device. I use Outlook for my work email (IMAP), but I'm unsure how. Is there a way to Import PST to Office 365 that can help?

If you are using IMAP, I don't believe you need to manually copy emails from one computer to another. Just set up the IMAP account on your new computer and when you connect to the server, all your emails will be there. Under IMAP, emails are stored on the server, not your local machine. That's why you can have multiple devices (Mac, iPhone, iPad, PC, etc.) all connect to the same email account and your emails will always be in sync on all devices.

There are exceptions, of course; if you moved or saved any emails to "On My Mac" then that's where they live and you would need to manually transfer them.

What version of MS Outlook

is this? For older versions, this may not be an option, other than doing so as a client of a network. For newer versions, go here: Export emails, contacts, and calendar items to Outlook using a .pst file - Microsoft Support

Just for sharing ... Easy and Direct

Internet Connection: Make sure you are connected to the internet during the import process to sync with your Office 365 account.

  • Open Microsoft Outlook.
  • Click on "File" in the menu bar. Select "Import...."
  • In the Import dialog box, select "Outlook for Windows archive file (.pst)" and click "Continue".
  • Browse to the location where you saved the PST file.
  • Select the PST file and click "Import".
  • The import process may take some time depending on the size of your PST file. Outlook will notify you once the import is complete.
