iphone 15 pro max battery degrade

Is this happening with your iPhone 15 Pro Max battery too? My battery capacity has decreased from 100% to 98% within two weeks, despite only using it for 2-3 hours daily and charging it mostly one time in two days.

- Charger Cable: Original

- Purchased: Almost 4 months ago

- Room Temperature: Good

- Charging Limit: 80%

- Games: No

- Battery Cycles: Almost 60

iPhone 15 Pro Max, iOS 17

Sounds like you are right within the average and maybe doing a little bit better due to your limited use. You can expect that the health will drop on average of 1% per month. That does not mean you will see a drop of 1% every month. Some months may not see a drop at all and other months may see more. Nothing unusual there. You are doing everything correctly, just keep it up.

Most users will recommend to charge it every night. Some processes run at night for doing backups and software updates, so having it plugged in will reduce battery usage during that time.

You already know that it is normal for the Battery Health to decline about 1% for every 25 charge cycles, correct?

So 60 charge cycles divided by 25 = 2.4%. So, it would be normal for the battery to be at 97-98% at this point, which is where your battery happens to be.

Keep in mind that the battery might actually be at 98.9%, but Apple always rounds the number down to be more conservative, so 98.9% is displayed as 98%.

My opinion......your battery will do better if it is set to Optimized Battery Charging and not to the 80% limit. These are the settings that I have been using for the last year or so, and I'm averaging about 1% decline for every 40 charge cycles. But, of course your mileage may vary.
