Why is Apple Pay charging my card for a non-saved purchase?

I dont have the card being charged in my Apple Pay Wallet. It was just the last card used. So, as its not in my Wallet, why is it being assumed i want this card used for further purchases?

The card that I used for a purchase recently on my iPhone was a business purchase, so I used the card.

I was just notified of a subscription being renewed that wasn’t for business purchases off of said card. I did not save it in my wallet and checked to make sure it wasn’t in my wallet. But I was still charged for it regardless. I also made sure to check my Google Pay settings and it’s not in there either. So why is Apple automatically charging the last card used when it’s not even saved to my account?

How did you use it then? What exactly did you do to make said purchase?

Apple does not assume anything. Apple can only charge cards that are actual added to your account. It cannot magically charge cards that are not added to your account.

Sounds like you added it to your Apple ID rather than Wallet and was used to pay for an App that had a free trial, which converted into a paid subscription.

You need to remove it from your Apple ID, which is unrelated to the Wallet App if that is the case.

You may also want to cancel the recurring subscription.
