Slow Mouse/Keyboard and wifi issues on Mac Mini

I have a 2018 Mac mini with 64Gb RAM and 65+GB free storage space and recently my wifi has started dropping while other computers in the house have no issue. When filling up an external HDD, I bought a new external SSD. I have recently noticed my mouse lags and I can out type my keyboard, while strenuous processing actions in photoshop run like normal. In a search it brought up a closed thread saying high speed external drives shouled away from the wireless usb receiver (I don't know what/where this is, since my Magic Mouse and off brand keyboard used the Mac mini bluetooth.

Mac mini is wall mounted under my desk with drives sitting right on top, would USB extension cords, and moving drives to desk top be the solution? it's a jumbled mess of cords and usb hubs down there next to the Mac mini... everything comes with super short cables... but since the drive is new and the bluetooth issues are new, I'm assuming it must be related to that

thank you for any help

Poorly shielded high speed USB devices and cables can cause both Wi-FI and Bluetooth issues.

At this point it sounds like you need to clean up and rearrange your setup, so that the drives and cables are below or behind the Mac mini.
