MacOS Stacks, "Get Info" opens modals for tons of documents

On MacOS, I like to use Stacks on the desktop. They are handy, though it really is missing the ability for me to select where on the desktop I'd like those icons to appear.

But, when you select "Get Info" on a Stacks \/ icon, I expect to see something about the sort order, etc., but instead it literally opens all the documents you have there -- this can be over 50 or more, that you have to close individually. I don't see a way to fine-tune this, but does anyone see a problem with that?

Before you perform a Get Info on an entire stack category, open it and do that on a given file. If you click on the Desktop and press cmd+J, you will see Stack By and Sort by capability. When you choose Stack By Kind, you will have Applications, Developer, Documents, PDF Documents, Other … in stack alphabetical order. You don't get to choose how they are arranged on your Desktop. One has no control over any folders that will appear before the Stack categories.
