Anyone using one of CalDigit's docks?

Hello all. This is a bit long, but I tried to anticipate all possible questions for a thorough post.

I bought a refurbished 2020 MacBook Pro from eBay in summer of 2022. It has two Intel i5s running MacOS 13.6.7 on 16GB of RAM. It has four TB3 ports, and one audio out. Because of its dearth of plug-in variety, I needed to purchase a dock.

I selected a CalDigit model, with TB3, USB-A, USB-C, ethernet, audio in/out, etc. Only one of the MacBook's TB3 ports was used to connect to all these devices through this dock. It also drew power through the dock, so I never really needed its native power adaptor. Great little device.

However...

Maybe 6 months or so ago, two of my external hard drives (using USB-A and/or B) had trouble mounting. Maybe a few weeks after that, I disconnected everything from the dock, and after rebooting it with connections plugged in again, everything mounted fine.

Two nights ago, those problems resurfaced. So, I disconnected all cables, including power, from the dock, and did my reboot thing again. Next day, only one of the two drives would mount. Might be a hard drive problem then, right? Maybe, but now I can no longer draw power from the dock either. The dock's plugged in to an outlet. The MacBook's connected through its TB3 port to a TB port on the dock. (Yes, I made sure that the port on the CalDigit box that the Mac's plugged into had the lightning bolt icon.)

I am thinking that the dock's going (after less than 2 years??? -- and it's out of warranty because I likewise bought it on eBay and it was already an older device; but it had supposedly never been actually used by the seller).

Has anyone had experience with these? Does anyone think that maybe it's time to just buy a new dock? Or...???

Thanks much guys.

I have been using non-stop a CalDigit TS3 Thunderbolt 3 dock since 2019.

It has never given me any problems.

It has always been plugged into an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), along with my Mac, monitor, external drives (2 of them), etc…

My CalDigit TS3 has 2 monitors attached. One via the CalDigit DisplayPort and one via the CalDigit Thunderbolt 3 output port (the monitor is a USB-C monitor, but that port works to drive that monitor).

As mentioned 2 external disks hanging off the CalDigit TS3

CalDigit Ethernet port attaches to the network.

And the CalDigit powers my Mac (company Mac actually).
