How to communicate with someone using Google Chat on my iPhone?

An anonymous person of mine has a phone that is not an iPhone. I have to use google chat to speak to her. Maybe someone could help me with that.

Voice message to non IPhones Why can I receive voice messages in text conversations from friends who don’t have an iPhone, but I can’t send my own to them in the same chat? Why would I have to download a separate app, it seems insane to me. Im not confused how to send them either, I do that all the time when the other person also has an IPhone.

iMessage on MacBookPro from iPhone When people text me it normally goes to my (Samsung) phone. Then 1 friend who has an iPhone sent me a text with my phone number and it went to iMessage on my computer. Now 2 more people with iPhones are texting me and it goes to iMessage. One of those people, if she responds to a thread it goes to my phone. If she initiates a text, it goes to iMessage. I don't want to use iMessage. Can I turn it off? I recently updated to 12.6.

Contact your phone carrier and let them know, that is their feature.
