shortcuts from siri on homepod

I have a smart outlet connected to my coffee maker. I have created 2 scenes: Make coffee (turn it on) and Turn off coffee (turn it off). I want to create a Shortcut that will turn the coffee maker on, wait for a specified time, and then turn it off.

When I run the shortcut from my HomePod (siri) it turns on the coffee, counts down the number of Wait seconds, and then says I have trouble connecting to your iPhone. It does not run the last scene.


The Shortcut is:


Toggle Accessory State > Scene: Make Coffee

Wait 400 seconds

Toggle Accessory State > Scene: Turn Off The Coffee

Jeff ~ 6 minutes and 40 seconds is almost certainly hitting a time limit in the Shortcuts app. Consider doing this: after Make Coffee, set an Alarm in your shortcut and create an automation triggered by that Alarm to Turn Off the Coffee.


Also ask on this HomeKit subreddit — it has many more HomeKit experts than here on ASC.
