Why is bluetooth not supported on both iPhone 14 and MacBook Pro 14?

So, I have an "APPLE" iPhone 14 and an "APPLE" MacBook Pro 14 and bluetooth is not supported for both devices even though they are BOTH apple devices? Everything always makes so much since doesn't it?

Macs and iPhones have Bluetooth – but don't pair with each other using it.

You set them up to work with each other in other ways, e.g., using iCloud synchronization, connections to the same e-mail accounts, and Continuity features. Some Continuity features may make use of Bluetooth, but they do that in ways that do not involve pairing.

Clarify this:

"Bluetooth is not supported"? Is this a message you are getting? Bluetooth is built into modern (and obsolete) Macs and iPhones.

Bluetooth is a peripheral support protocol used at close distances to connect HOSTS like computers and phones to PERIPHERALS like bluetooth speakers and Bluetooth keyboards.

Bluetooth is not a network protocol, and is simply not suitable for connecting MacBooks to iPhones manually.

Apple offers some marvelous and very flexible methods for using your different kinds of Apple devices together, but starting from the low-level bluetooth connection control panel leads NOWHERE.

For real though, I understand it. They’re both your devices under the same user ID’s so bluetooth cannot connect to itself basically. However i think it should have some type of transfer using bluetooth instead of having to have all these different sign ins for internet connection when the phone data literally can transfer to the laptop. Isnt that the innovation evolution of technology we suppose to be using?

Instead, Apple offers AirDrop. See here:

How to use AirDrop on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

No sign ins are required.

That's not it at all. It's simply that they were not designed to work using traditional Bluetooth pairing.

I don't see how "some type of transfer using bluetooth" would be more convenient than the iCloud-based and email-account-based synchronization that my iPhone and Mac do now. If there was "some type of transfer using Bluetooth", it would be one more option, and for many uses, could not substitute for an Internet connection.
