I know, it's an old Mac book pro, but I use it only for very easy tasks. I formatted the HD and re-installed the OS: the problem is always there: even if I only read a newspaper online the fan goes at maximum and the CPU is working heavily.
Earlier Mac models
you do not have TRIM enabled on your third party boot drive. It needs to be, or everything will get to be WAY too slow.
Drives:
disk0 - Samsung SSD 860 QVO 1TB 1.00 TB (Solid State - TRIM: No)
in terminal, type this command, enter your password that will NOT be echoed, and follow the directions.
sudo trimforce enable
