Phoning out problems
I have an iPhone 12 and I’m having problems phoning new numbers. In fact when I add a new contact I can’t phone that number. I can’t phone long distance though I can through a “recent” call

have tried simply shutting down and restarting

Settings>General>Transfer or Reset iPhone>Reset>Reset Network Settings <—————————RESET
If you see SOS, No Service, or Searching on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
