Apple ID NAME change

when I created a family account my first name under my Apple ID was changed to my family members first name, giving us both the same name. The email addresses are correct, just the name and monogram are incorrect. I logged in to applied.apple.com and the names are correct there. However, they still show up incorrectly our phones. I tried changing my monogram to my correct initials, and it changed both our initials! Did I set up my family account incorrectly? How do I fix this mess?

To me it is sounding like you only created a single account and therefore anything done to it on one device will be reflected on other device too. Each person needs their own account. Make sure that each family member has a unique Apple ID as suggested in this support article --> Make sure that each family member has a unique Apple ID - Apple Support

For a child (age varies according to country), read this support article about how to create an Apple ID for your child --> Create an Apple ID for your child - Apple Support

This support article describes how to create a new, non-child Apple ID = create an Apple Account. --> How to create a new Apple ID - Apple Support
