Constant unknown "software update" pop-ups

Every once in a while I get this pop-up on my MacBook that tells me to do a "software update", but there is no relevant context for this update and it asks for my password. So out of security reasons I never gave my password, is this pop-up legit? How can I know which software is prompting this?

(I forgot to screenshot my pop-up so I googled a screenshot for these pop-ups)

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.1
