we bought the iphone 11 last year for my son, it has been working fine however yesterday it turned off & nothing would turn it back on except when i tried volume up then down then hold the on button till apple logo appeared and it came back on . now it’s done it again today. is there anything we can do to stop this happening ?

What is the current setting for Maximum Capacity?
Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging > Maximum Capacity.
If the Max Capacity is 80% or less, the battery needs to be replaced.
If a forced restart did not work to fix the issue it is most likely hardware related i am afraid. You might want to observe the iPhone to see when it is happening to see if you can find any cause of it
If you cannot find the cause and you want to fix this behavior you might want to have it looked after at an Apple Store or at an autorized service provider
