Can an iPad and Apple Pencil replace a Wacom Intuos Pro Tablet?

what model iPad and pencil are recommended?
The image on a Mac would be mirrored on the iPad. I am looking for the iPad and pencil to behave like the Wacom Tablet. The iPad would be connected to the Mac via a cable.
