How to delete shortcuts from the Home screen of an iPhone ?

i added a new shortcut to my homescreen and wanted to get rid of it but whenever i try to “edit homescreen” it doesn’t show the little white x on the top. i deleted the shortcut on the app already but it still shows up on the homescreen. how do i remove it?
