Calls received on my iPhone are not coming through on my Apple Watch

Just set up new iPhone 15 with new watch SE. How long does it take to set up the cellular to receive calls? It said it was synced to my phone. But when my phone has a call come through it does not come through on watch? Maybe it didn't sync to my cellphone #? Help appreciated.
