Fusion drive died and is not recoverable. Do I change it for a SSD 1tb drive or do I buy another imac 27 practically same cost

Hello Everyone

I wanted to ask the community their thoughts on the following I have a late 2015 27' imac I7 with 32gb , 2tb fusion drive that has just died and ive lost everything. recovery is around £250 (+VAT) with zero guarantee.

So It looks like I might have to start again as my time machine cant be found anywhere on the fusion drive.

The engineer is telling me the drive is is F**Ked and to replace it or add an ssd the price is £395 (+VAT) money is a bit of squeeze right now so then I was offered for the same money another iMac Retina 5K, 27" Late 2015 – Slim Core i7 2TB SSD 32GB Ram 4.0GHz.

I use this mac for music writing Logic mostly and video editing and right now do not have the money to go into M1. I currently have samples and files stored on external lacie drives 6tb, 4tb and a one lacie 4gb rugged so all this was working fine.

But if I am starting again would you go for just fixing the drive adding the new SSD or buy the above imac as it still has a 6mnth warranty.

Even if the data is recoverable another £295 is a lot for me right now.

I very much appreciate some advice from the logical people in this forum.
