iPad 5.gen Wifi+Cellular "Cannot be activated, update required"
Hi, i have this 5th gen cellular iPad that i recently got from a family member who could not figure out how to get it working again, its a model with a SIM slot and when you attempt to activate it the page just skips and it throws the "Cannot be activated" alert and the only option is to shut down the device. Ive tried to recover it using normal recovery mode and also DFU, but nothing worked so far. Why is this happening? Its a fully functional device with no damage to it and it was working fine a few years back. I even tried putting in a SIM card into it, but it did not detect it nor did it try searching for a network. If i go on iTunes the device is detected but i cannot access any options unless its in recovery mode, otherwise its just a white screen with "iPad" on it. Is this a hardware failure? if so then i do not understand how that relates to activating the device, do i HAVE to use a SIM card to get it working?
