Airpods firmware will not update. Iphone 13Pro, running current IOS 17.6.1, bluetooth connected. Airpods show on phone with firmware version 6A321. I've left Airpods on charger, Iphone right aside of it, still no firmware update. Help!!!

Yes, the Iphone 13Pro is connected to Wifi, yes the Airpods are on charging and within range of my Iphone Pro 13 again connected to Wifi. STILL, the airpods do not get the firmware update delivery automatically.
Guess I'm stuck with firmware version 6A321.
