How to stop unwanted Safari notifications?

I am getting repeated notifications each day that Safari (on my Macbook Pro) has been hacked and that there is a virus - so far received 100 notifications.

How do I completely reset or reinstall Safari to get rid of this virus?

I am running the latest version of Mac OS Sonoma.
