How can I stop receiving constant virus notifications on my Apple MacBook?

I went to a website (I don't remember which one) and it came up as a mcafee security thing I closed out that site. But every since that I keep getting notifications(a lot ) popping up telling me that I have viruses, my email has something wrong, bank account ( I don't have) has someone trying to take out $419.00,I have Trojans, and all kinds of stuff like that. What should I do? Apple Airbook
