I may have scanned a scam QR code with my iPhone 14.

I got the QR code off telegram which i was using on my computer. I scanned it with my phone and it took me to the telegram app. I did not give it any permissions, there was just a message with an ok button and nothing else. I forget what it said. But I was just in my telegram in my settings, nothing happened. I'm afraid that my device, telegram, or phone number are compromised because of this QR code. It didn't take me to any website but what would be the point of me scanning it and it taking me to telegram? Let me know what steps i can take to make sure my device is ok

Relax, nothing can affect your iPhone if you have not Jailbroken your device. Do not divulge any personal credentials. That's it.

As has already been replied, this is in all liklihood a benign instance of “quirkiness” or possibly the end-result of built-in iPhone safeguards …

However, you did intentionally scan a QR code with your phone; what were you led to believe that it was supposed to do?

Perhaps that might explain the behaviour you encountered.

It was disguised as a Safeguard verification to enter a telegram- which usually requires you to do a test to make sure you're human, but this one instead just gave a qr code(which i now know was not actually safeguard but a bot disguised as it)

Gotcha, I was just seeing if someone on here could get to the bottom of it. But like you both said I didnt share anything or have anywhere to share information, I'll just draw it up to it took me to my telegram and iPhone had safeguards or something lol

Alright I was just making sure, wasn't sure what could happen. Do you know why they would use that code if it just took me to my telegram on my device?
