Lost Airtag may have been paired with new Apple ID

I lost an airtag, but before I managed to set "Lost Mode" it disappeared from last know location

does this mean someone has found it and paired it with their own Apple ID?

I read on another post someone knew that their Airtag was set up on a strangers Apple ID.

Does it notify you if someone does pair it with their own? (if it wasn't put into Lost Mode)

As the airtag still shows on my Apple ID but there is no other info (location etc).

“Last Known Location” is only maintained on Apple’s FindMy servers for 24 hours; that likely explains what you observed.

Next: An AirTag which had been paired to your account has it’s Pairing Lock activated.

It CAN’T be paired to another AppleID until you first remove it from yours.
