App Store App Versions

I just downloaded the Pages app from the app store, and when I did, it said the version was 4.1, however, when I open the app from my homes reen and go into settings, it says the version is 4.1(7369.0.73)

Can someone explain what the number in the parentheses mean?

thanks

iPhone XS Max, iOS 17

It is the build number. As an app is being developed, they use a version number that should be represented for the app and the build number is used to track changes along the way of the development process. You may see a build number from an app that was built for iOS and a different build number for an app built for Mac OS even though the version number is the same.

So if my build number does not match Apple's build number, has someone altered the app in some way?

I mean (253844) and (7369.0.73) are not even close.

If in fact it does belong to a Mac computer, and the ONLY device I own is an iphone, what does this mean?

By the way, since you last responded my app store application is gone and I don't know how to get it back. I promise I did not erase it. I didn't tie-one-on nor do I sleep walk?????

thanks
