Help Disconnecting back up disc.

I have a new easystore backup disc. I want to disconnect it. I have all my apps along the left side vertically not on the bottom of my Mac. Where do I find the place to click to make it safe to remove the backup drive once the backup is complete.

Time machine backup catalog and app performance I made the decision (you might say, the mistake) of using three different devices as Time Machine backup drives. Between the three drives, I have backups going all the way back to 2020, and my sense is that the Time Machine app on the Mac wasn't designed to so many backups, or perhaps it's the use of multiple backup drives that is causing issues. When I try to use the app to restore a file, the menu on the right is useless, and trying to navigate through the backups using the arrow buttons also doesn't work right. One click and it goes from today to 2021. I want to delete my older backups and slim down to only use one backup device. How can I delete the old backups? I've seen references to deleting from within the app, but I don't see how to do that. Does the Mac maintain a catalog of old backups that needs to be maintained, or does it populated the backup catalog every time you load the app? Tips and advice appreciated.

Can I delete old Time Machine backups to save space on MacBook I have been using Time Machine to back-up my Mac to a 1 TB external drive instead of backing up to the cloud. That hard drive is almost full even though the Mac internal hard drive is storing only 6 Gig out of 1TB. Instead of getting a new hard drive, can I/should I delete the oldest back-ups to create room for new back-ups? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Finder Setting>General>HARD DISK on Destop

drag it to the trashcan to unmount .... is one way
