On using my AirPods Pro Max I can't see the serial number or model in the settings menu

When you click the 'i' icon in devices while in use it usually displays audio settings where you can then optimise to your tastes but all mine does is that it just allows me to change the name, disconnect and forget device cant even optimise the settings the airpods max were purchased in December of 2020 and I just got them a few days ago and I have checked the serial number on the box and saw my airpods max there.
