In Photos how do I shown the date/time?

Right now if I show all of the photos in an album it shows the file name. How can I get it to also show the date/time the photos were taken. I know I can do cmd-I to show the date/time of an individual photo, but I want to see the date/time of all the photos where the file name appears.

The Thumbnail view can show the title, and in the absence of any title, it shows the file name. So the solution is to put the date and any other information you want in the title field. You can do this manually, or there are some user generated scripts available to do some of this as a batch operation.

For me, to put the date in the title, I use Photos Workbench ($30). It gives choices like this:

You have many choices, including added text like above, for the title. Here is a menu showing some of the choices:

It also has a find and replace for titles, so I can fix all the mistakes I make.

The program is very intuitive-- I've used it for a long time.

The point was that it's the Title that is shown under the thumbnail. It's almost the definition of a Title. If you want the date to show under the thumbnail, then the date must be in the Title. With Photos Workbench, you can have the Title show both the date and the filename, even some other metadata.

As OT showed, you can get all kinds of stuff with other apps. PowerPhotos is almost a necessity for any extended use of Photos.

If you want a reference with more under a Thumbnail, you can use the Print option to make a pdf with captions and all kinds of stuff.
