When I look at the Photos grid of I want to see the date of each photo. I don't want to open each photo to see the date. I want to see the dates of all the photos all the time. Where is the setting that makes that happen?

To put the date in the title, I use Photos Workbench ($30). It gives choices like this:

It also has a find and replace for titles, so I can fix all the mistakes I make.
The program is very intuitive-- I've used it for a long time.

You could use the free trial version of PowerPhotos to show you yourPhotos Library in a second browser window. There you can show the date below the thumbnails of the photos as subtitle in addition to the filename or title. For example:
PowerPhotos is a very versatile companion to Photos. Wit helps a lot to have more than one browser window open, so we can compare albums or libraries and we can move albums or folders between Photos Libraries.
To move photos between libraries you would need the full, paid version however. But the nice browser features are free.

Either use some 3rd party tool (GraphicConverter, A better Finder Rename, exiftool etc) to copy the date to the filename before importing the images. Or use some Photos script to copy the date to the Title. Then in Photos > View > Metadata > Title.
I don't believe there is such a setting.
Thank you. That may be beyond my capabilities but now I know that what I want is not part of Photos.
