bought a new printer - downloaded recommended setup files online. But Apple will only install setup software obtained from the App store. How to change the security settings? SO frustrating.

printer you chose; that might work OK. ~ And other near models
of drivers from the printer maker's site (by numbers) may still do.

It’s too bad we are asked to guess the printer’s manufacturer and model. Likely the software you downloaded is not required.
