Why does my Type C to Lightning Cable work with my laptop but not with Apple 20W Adapter?

my type c to lightning cable is not working with the Apple 20w adapter but it starts working when I charge it through my laptop. And yes my adapter is not faulty it works fine with type c to type c cable. Can anyone tell me the reason?

Ipad Pro only charges when connected to MacBook Air I have an iPad Pro 12.9, 3rd generation that will only charge when connected via USB-C to my M2 MacBook Air. No other wall charger, regardless of power output, will charge the iPad Pro - and I have tried numerous combinations of newer chargers and cables. I do not want to replace the iPad Pro, and looked into the cost of replacing its charging port - over $500! Any ideas on how to get the iPad Pro to charge normally?

No, no one can tell you the reason. And it would be a waste of time to try to figure it out. Just get a new cable.

I will ask if the cable is an Apple product, or at least one certified as MFI.
