Unable to connect apple tv 3 (A1469) to iCloud account

Whenever i attempt to login to my apple tv account it just shows "Unable to sign in. iCloud isn't set up for this Apple ID Account, even thought the email i use to connect is ***@iCloud.com I have confirmed that AVD is off too. What is the problem? i know its an old device but i have seen many people still connect to it. I cant even connect to airplay with it. I can however, connect to Redbull TV, Amazon Prime, And netflix on it and watched tv, even the radio app works.

Whenever i attempt to login to my apple tv account it just shows "Unable to sign in. iCloud isn't set up for this Apple ID Account,

Rather, iCloud services have since changed beyond what this model Apple TV box can do.

Don’t confuse Apple cloud services with the domain name of an email address. The first isn’t compatible anymore with your device, but the email is fine (independent).

I have confirmed that AVD is off too.

I don’t know that abbreviation in this context.

Apple ended system software support for this model per March 14, 2022.

Apple added this model to the list of unsupported hardware per November 5, 2021.

Amazon Prime Video was said to end support for this model per February 12, 2024.

Netflix will end support for this model per July 31, 2024.

I cant even connect to airplay with it.

AirPlay should work, but for select services though, as long as the box is “activated” with a valid Apple ID. Many streaming providers now require an AirPlay 2-compatible receiver, which is 4th generation or later, or AirPlay-enabled smart TV, or Roku. Other streaming providers might block AirPlay (Netflix, select cable TV services) to any AirPlay device. Some web streamers don’t make any effort to make their streams AirPlay compatible (hit or miss). ‘AirPlay 2’ seems like the biggest obstacle here, imho. See the sites of the content providers for details on AirPlay compatibility.
