IPHONE 14 PLUS AND MICROSOFT AUTHENTICATOR

Hi, When I login using my office computer, it gives a 2 digit code on the browser(it goes thru login.microsoftonline.com) and I have to go to MS authenticator to enter the same 2 digit code and then use Face ID and after that 2 steps only in the browser it allows me to my company portal.

I am moving from USA to India and will be taking a India based SIM card.

Q1)Can this work on a India based SIM Card in IPHONE 14 PLUS?

Q2)Should I need to update the mobile phone number(after I take India SIM card) to the India number in the company profile so that it will continue to send this 2 digit code?

or

does it work based on data(that it will work in Wifi also) thru the MS Authenticator app and will continue as it is? The issue is to login to the my company Microsoft Outlook profile to get in I need a successful login(that above process may have to follow right?) and initial time period I wil have some days before I take a new India SIM card.
