Why can't I drag windows to other spaces when second monitor is connected?

The question in the title was asked 10 years ago here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5542130?sortBy=best

I am running Ventura, and I am hoping that after 10 years, Apple would have resolved this issue.

Any news?

Work in multiple spaces on Mac - Apple Support

I have 3 screens, and what I do is press F3 (Mission Control) or use a Hot Corner that brings up Mission Control, then drag the window I want to move into another space to the other space symbol at the top of the Mission Control screen.

I'm sure one of the issues to dragging to the edge of a screen is with multiple monitors, but each monitor has its own Spaces, what do you do if all the edges are adjacent to another screen. In this situation you would expect your cursor to move to the next display, not all of a sudden disappear the window into a different space. Just my opinion.

An alternative suggestion.

Get BetterTouchTool, or similar utility https://folivora.ai/

With BTT, I can create a trigger (mouse, trackpad, keyboard, key sequence,...), for example Command-Shift-Control-Option-Right_Arrow and configure it to move the current window to the Space that is "Right" of the current Space. And Commnad-Shift-Control-Option-Left_Arrow to move the current window to the Space that is "Left" of the current Space.

I choose long multiple modifier keys because I did not want to accidentally conflict with any other keyboard shortcuts while testing, but I could have done some homework and selected something less difficult to press.

BTT triggers can be for the keyboard, the mouse, the trackpad, unique key sequences, etc...

BTT has a gazillion configuration options. It may have something for a hot corner, or even dragging to an edge, except I think the edges are reserved for window snapping, so that may not be a BTT option.

Or maybe a utility such as Keyboard Maestro https://www.keyboardmaestro.com/main/

Or some other keyboard enhancement utility.

@Barney-15E I have one space for one monitor and multiple spaces for the other. Mouse arrow moves back and forth between displays with ease. But dragging an app from one space to the next *within* the multiple spaces associated to one monitor does not work. Of course, it would work if I were not using two monitors. But having a second monitor negates dragging apps between spaces.
