Is it really possible to get applecare for my mac after it got repaired by an authorised service provider?

I've got my macbook pro m3 7 months ago and didn't purchase applecare plan. Today I got a surprise when I opened my mac and saw that the screen is damaged. I took my mac to the only authorised service provider that exists in my country and they quoted 1000 dollars for a repair. Now I know that you have only 60 days for purchasing applecare plan and that window is closed for me but I'm willing to pay for repairing my mac. Today I've read that apple allows mac and iphone users to purchase applecare if the repair services are provieded by Apple authorised service providers. Since the screen got damaged out of the blue I'm considering getting applecare if it's really possible after repairing it, but I couldn't find any info on apple webpage and consultant didn't have any information either. I would like to know if that policy really exists and If anyone had any experience regarding getting applecare after repairing their product.

from that macRumors article:

"Since the iPhone is less than one year old, John is advised that he can still purchase AppleCare+ for the device so that any subsequent repairs aren't as expensive."

So if that is true, you still have to pay the full cost of the current repair, but you can pay the fee to opt IN to AppleCare Plus and they count your repair as the (required) inspection.

You should ask your service provider about that, since they will have to verify the repair/inspection.
