What could cause a specific area of an iPhone 12 Pro screen to be unresponsive?

Today it was raining heavily, and my iPhone 12 Pro was in my pocket. When I reached home I noticed that the extreme of my right side screen is not working although the whole screen doesn’t look damaged where it’s color, brightness and everything okay! All the other parts of the screen are working perfectly except this 0.5 cm of the right side is not responding to the touch. What may be affected in my iPhone!!
