Why does SanDisk photostick change photo name

I bought a SanDisk photo stick. I stick it into my iphone and it allows me to get photos, then stick it into laptop and transfer photos to my laptop or external hard drive. Problem - the photostick changes the name of the photo. Icloud easily names them in sequence IMG_8766. Photostick changes name to some random long name and then throws them in a random order. WHY. How do I stop that please?

SanDisk is not an Apple product. What have the SanDisk people had to say about this? My guess is that their software just doesn't work very well.

Internally, Photos uses unique filenames, like 88B20509-DEF0-479E-939A-B68B32A84E7B.jpg. Apple Software, and trusted 3rd party software which uses Apple's routines, handle this properly. Your best bet is to talk to SanDisk.
