I cannot figure out how to have my main viewer display on an external monitor and have the multicam angles on the main monitor. I've been searching for hours but it seems strange that the two viewers cannot be separated somehow. This is really bad for workflow. Is there a way to create a second viewer and drag it to the other screen? I'm really stumped.
You can't exactly separate the viewers.
A possible alternative is to set your external display as AV Output.
That is not exactly the same thing, of course, but allows you to see your video, full screen, on the external.
The viewer will still exist in the main monitor, but you can adjust the size to make the angles a little larger and the viewer smaller.
Note: AV Output may or may not be a possibility, depending on how the display is connected, and its resolution. It does work with HDMI, and a display set to 4K or 1080p. I believe it now also works with other connectivity options, like USB-C, but I do not have such a display to confirm.
