Switch off iCloud backup except for emails

Hi,

I'm getting messages that my iCloud is full. However, I use Google drive to back up my files, and I also have a Timemachine backup. All I could conceive of using iCloud backup for is my emails (I use Mac Mail to read and send through other accounts - e.g. Gmail, Hotmail).

So my question is: can I switch off iCloud backups for everything else except Mac Mail?

Thanks,

Gareth.

Actually, when I look at the iCloud drive storage, most of the space is taken up by a backup of messages. I don't want those backed up - is there a way to switch just messages backup off?

On your Mac, go to Settings><Apple ID>iCloud>Show More Apps>Messages in iCloud and adjust the settings. You can turn it off or you can change how long things are kept.
