I’m feeling a bit concerned. Orded a iPad Air 2024 to come tomorrow 6th of July. It’s just turned 6pm and it’s still stuck on preparing to ship with no shipping or tracking details in sight.
contacted customer services and they wasn’t helpful at all and just linked me back to my order status page.
can orders be shipped in middle of the night and still arrive tomorrow?

Absolutely can happen depending on where it’s coming from. Also…you can often see more info if you have a free account with whoever it is being shipped with (UPS My Choice for example….I usually see more detailed info when I log into my account before I see it with the tracking details from the company I am expecting the package from. This is assuming that the package is actually in their possession. Same with FedEx Delivery Manager). If it’s being shipped overnight you will most likely receive it and may not see movement with the tracking number until later tonight.

It CAN happen, but probably won’t. However, until it is scanned in the shipping department it will show Preparing to Ship, so there is some hope.
I ordered something from Amazon at 11 PM on July 4, and it is coming today.
Unfortunately I’m UK based and Apple here only use DPD and you can only track with a actual tracking number.
just annoyed as I orded this on the 25th of June and selected 6th of July delivery as I would be home to receive it, so they had plenty of time really and Apple usually are good with their delivery times. It’s 10:35pm now and still no shipping notification, so not holding my hopes up for tomorrow :(
