How to get past the "Firmware Password" when booting into recovery on my MacBook Air?

Macbook Air will not enter recovery mode, keeps asking for the Firmware Password that I never, ever created. I'm trying to install a new SSD drive and cannot install OS

The firmware passcode does not set itself. If you bought the machine new, either you set it or someone with physical access to it did.

If you have the original proof of purchase for the machine, you can take it and the machine to Apple to have the firmware passcode removed.

If you bought it used, contact whoever you got it from. If you can’t, or they don’t know the passcode, it’s officially a boat anchor.

There is no way to bypass that.
