manufacture date iphone se

I was trying to find out the manufacture date of my iPhone SE in order to buy a new case for it

on Google the advice is

setting - general - about

this gives the serial number

on another site it states the fourth character denotes the year another site says first and second character is the year

as mine has PQ in the serial number it says that equates to 2015

however I’m sure mine is second generation so why is this serial number look like it’s saying 2015

iPhone SE, iOS 17

There is a MUCH better way to determine your iPhone SE model to determine its proper case.

You can find "advice" on Google with explanations proving that the earth is flat.

To buy a new case, all that you need to know is which generation of the SE that you have. You don't need a serial number or manufacture date. That information is irrelevant for your task because the phone will have the same dimensions regardless of when it was manufactured.

Tap Settings > General > About and look for the Model Number

If you have the 2nd Generation SE, look for a case that will fit that model.
